When you use DM For Me, we collect the minimum data needed to make the product work:
Your data is used solely to power the DM For Me experience:
Screenshots you upload are processed by our AI to read the conversation and generate responses. We do not store the raw screenshot images after processing. When you connect your Instagram account, DM conversations and messages are synced directly via the Meta API and stored in your account. In both cases, the conversation data (artist name, message content, conversation stage) is stored only in your account to power artist profiles, CRM, and memory.
If you choose to connect your Instagram account, we access your direct messages through the official Meta (Instagram) API. This requires you to authorize the following permissions:
Your Instagram access token is stored securely on our servers and is used only to sync your conversations and send messages you explicitly approve. You can disconnect your Instagram account at any time from your dashboard settings, which immediately revokes our access.
To generate response suggestions, we send conversation context (message text, conversation history, and your voice profile preferences) to Anthropic's Claude API — a third-party AI service. We use Claude Haiku for screenshot analysis and Claude Sonnet for response generation. This data is sent solely to generate responses and is not used by Anthropic to train their models. For more information, see Anthropic's privacy policy.
If you enable the auto-reply feature, DM For Me will automatically generate and send responses to incoming Instagram DMs on your behalf. Auto-reply is opt-in, off by default, and requires you to complete persona calibration (selecting preferred responses across multiple conversations) before it can be activated. Auto-reply uses your trained voice profile and conversation goal to generate responses. You can disable auto-reply at any time from your settings, and you can hide specific conversations from auto-reply.
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number. Stripe may store your email, name, and billing address. For more information, see Stripe's privacy policy.
Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers hosted by Supabase (AWS, US region). We use industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit and at rest. Access to user data is limited to essential operations only.
We apply the following data retention periods:
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Settings page (in both the Chrome extension and the web dashboard). You can also request deletion by emailing dmforme@gmail.com. When you delete your account, all associated data — voice profile, artist profiles, conversation history, Instagram tokens, calibration data, and billing records — is permanently removed immediately.
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We don't use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
DMforME's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email. Continued use of the product after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
